Finding Other Uses for Reiki

Yesterday as part of my assignment for my Reiki Master Course I started to think about different things around my home that I could give Reiki too.  I came up with several things that I hadn't thought of before and was quite surprised at the results.

At one point I decided to send Reiki energy to the fish in my fish tank.  I did this with the intention of helping them to grow strong and healthy.  I gave them the Reiki by placing my hands on either end of the 10 gallon tank and focusing on calm, healing energy.  To my amazement almost immediately all 6 fish in the tank moved in mass to the center of the tank and began staring at me.  I am certain they could feel the energy and realized that I was the channeling source of it.  I was delighted with their reaction.  Afterward they stayed there in that position for a long time gazing out the front of the tank to where I had been sitting, then almost as suddenly they began to go about their business swimming and frolicking throughout the tank.  This brought me a great deal of joy to watch.

A while later I decided to send Reiki into my hand painted angel statue that sits in front of my sliding glass door in the living room.  I focused on sending positive energy that would radiate from the statue and fill the room.  Immediately afterward it began radiating a calming energy that did in fact seem to fill the room.  My life partner and I both noticed a big difference in the energy of the room.  I didn't know that it was possible to do such a thing, but in fact it seems that it is.

Later in the day at the behest of my spirit guides I decided to build a shrine in the corner of my living room in honor and memory of Dr. Mikao Usui.  In doing so I decided to send the Reiki into all the candles and other decorations that I placed in the cabinet that became the shrine including the 8x10 image of Dr. Usui that sits in the center.  A feeling of pure peace now radiates from the shrine and every time I look at it with the candles lit it puts me instantly into a meditative trance like state and I feel the presence of Dr. Usui even more than I did before.  I have for several days now come to the realization that he is one of my spirit guides and has been for a long time.  He keeps coming to me in my dreams and during meditations and I feel his presence during the healings.  I feel truly blessed to have this shrine to him in my home.

In the early evening of the same day I began giving Reiki to my house plants, all 8 of them that sit in my living room.  I focused on healing, growth, and strength as I placed the energy with my hands on either side of each plant.  I drew the Cho Ku Rei symbol over them as I placed the energy.  Two of the plants were very sickly as of yesterday, but this morning they are both perked up and very green.  I am quite pleased with this result and will most definitely practice this form of healing on them in the future when needed.

Shortly after this healing I walked out into my patio garden and found a little sparrow whose leg was caught between two branches of one of the plants.  I do not know how long he had been there but he had been dangling there upside down for quite some time.  Instantly I felt the urge to save this creature and I was amazed at how calm he was as I gently took hold of him and untangled his leg from the branch.  He looked as though he had been there for some time and was not very lively so I focused Reiki energy into healing him.  He sat there in my palm very calmly and then I sat him on the ground.  He hobbled along for a few steps but stayed for quite some time until finally he spread his tiny wings and flew off.  I watched him for a long time as he flew around a tree in the back yard.  Being able to see him healed and flying made my heart soar with joy.  I will never forget that feeling.  It was absolutely the most beautiful and most precious moment of my life.
